Inspection
It is the Friday before closing and our independent inspector did a great job testing and making sure everything was perfect for our closing next week. He found nothing alarming and gave us a full list of little fixes that can be made. Our PM was present the entire time and even started making quick fixes right on the spot. The biggest "problem" they found is that the hot water in the upstairs guest bath does not seem to be getting very warm. Our PM had already noticed this issue and scheduled an appointment with the plumber. Fingers crossed it is an easy fix! A big thank you to Rob's dad for coming down to help us with the inspection. We are so thankful for our wonderful friends, family and construction/sales team. It truly does take a village to make a house a home. We can't wait to finally get the keys next week!

Eekkkk my kitchen is PERFECT
I was elated when I walked in the house to find that our new granite had been installed and the floors have been uncovered. The great room will definitely be the coolest room in the house (although Rob will still tell you his basement is the best). Our PM has been truly wonderful and I can't thank her enough for pushing to get this fixed for us. Along with the excitement of the kitchen, I found that the rest of our appliances have been installed and our back walkout "deck" has been assembled. Once the house is ours, we plan to add a deck off of the morning room and a patio under the deck connecting the walkout. We also plan to convert the two pot lights above the island into pendants. Here are some pictures of the house progress:

Granite Heart Attack
It's been a little while since we've updated the blog. The workers have been busy installing hardwoods, finishing trim and getting the house ready to go. Last week we had quite the scare when we realized that the wrong granite had been installed in our kitchen! Instead of the grayish white st. Cecelia light they installed something warmer and darker with more gold/orange tones. Our PM was quick to agree that the granite installed was not the correct granite and it currently working on getting it changed. The outside siding has been completed and we are waiting for our door to be painted. There is still so much to do but it is coming along nicely.
